Custom ERP Solution Development for Food and Beverage Client

Client Context

The client is a pacific northwest based organic produce broker founded in 2001, with a focus on sourcing products for large and small industrial customers, food service operators, and retail store poly bag programs. The client also supplies their customers with market information, forecasting, and distribution options.

Over their 18 years in operation, the client successfully developed a large network of relationships with produce growers and packers in the Northwestern United States and California. More recently, with their sourcing operations steadily expanding nationally and internationally, their relationships and customer base saw explosive growth.

Business Challenge

As with several businesses that started during the time period, the client’s legacy ERP application which served them well for many years, was no longer meeting the needs of their growing business in the modern digital ecosystem,

Their existing ERP application continued to support the business, but at a high cost and effort to maintain with less than optimal performance output. The rigidity and aging application design and architecture was impacting the client’s ability to operate and grow at a pace aligned with their short- and long-term goals.

The BroadPoint Solution

BroadPoint’s team of solution experts took on the task with a two-fold focus – the first, was to assume responsibilities of maintaining and upgrading the legacy ERP system to ensure seamless and optimized business operations; and the second, was the new system design and implementation.

The team collaborated with the client’s leadership and subject matter experts for a deep dive understanding of the functionality and features of the new solution should look like. This information remained at the heart of BroadPoint’s outcome-driven solution development.

From ideation through roll-out, the team designed and developed a bespoke ERP system which was implemented using an iterative roll-out process with business continuity in mind.

This engagement was based on a blended delivery model through a combination of onsite and remote resources
